Cigna Coverage Availability & Fees

Although Cigna offers several plans, many of them follow a pattern of coverage. Typically, the most generous coverage applies to preventive services and minor repairs, so you stand to save the most when you take advantage of them over major restorative work. Your child’s coverage may look like this:

  • 80 to 100 percent coverage for preventive care (e.g., cleaning and checkups, fluoride, dental sealants)
  • 70 to 80 percent coverage for minor restorative services (e.g., tooth-colored fillings)
  • 50 percent coverage for major restorative services (e.g., dental crowns)

If your child has been diagnosed with physical, mental, or sensory special needs, additional services, such as sedation, may be partially covered by the policy.
