Selina was amazing with my 3 year old. She did an awesome cleaning and made it fun the whole time. The entire office is so professional and friendly. Not only do they provide excellent care but they make you feel like they actually do care. Dr. Patrick was awesome and did a thorough evaluation as well summarized all of the findings. As a surgeon myself, I can attest to the high quality of the office and care Provided to my son. We will be lifelong patients.

Frequently Asked Questions, Answered!

Our knowledgeable and friendly team at Wash Park Pediatric Dentistry is here to answer any questions you have over the phone or during your next visit. Of course, we also recognize that people sometimes prefer to do their research online first. If you’re one of them, then keep reading – we’ve responded to some of the most frequently asked questions we get from patients right here!

What do you do if you can't afford a pediatric dentist?

If you think you can’t afford a pediatric dentist, think again! Our team takes pride in offering several financial solutions, so cost isn’t what stands in the way of essential preventive and restorative dentistry. If you have dental insurance, then let us help you utilize your available benefits. We proudly work with United Healthcare, Guardian, MetLife, and more. As a result, we are familiar with these plans and will happily help you maximize your coverage. If you don’t have dental insurance, don’t worry – that’s where CareCredit comes in. With this third-party financier, you can space-out your child’s treatment into budget-friendly chunks instead of paying for it all upfront. If you want to learn more about either of these options, then get in touch with our team!

What level of education is required to be a pediatric dentist?

Before becoming a pediatric dentist, those aspiring to become one need to complete their undergraduate degree. Oftentimes, it’s in a major that’s math and science-heavy. Then, they must earn their Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Sciences (DDS) from an accredited dental school in the US. At this point, they can pursue additional training in a specialty, like pediatric dentistry.

In addition to completing all of these requirements, Dr. Bowman is also board-certified, which is a testament to his talent, training, and dedication to the field. To this day, he pursues continuing education to ensure that he’s up to date on the latest techniques and technologies as well.

How do I get emergency dental care for my child?

If your child sustains a dental injury – from a painful toothache to a completely knocked-out tooth – it’s important to assess the damage. If they are having difficulty breathing, you can’t control their bleeding, they are struggling to swallow, or are experiencing another potentially life-threatening symptom, then you should take them to the nearest ER or call 911.

If they aren’t experiencing any of the previously mentioned symptoms, then the best thing to do is call our office. From there, one of our knowledgeable team members can learn more about your situation before scheduling a time for your child to come in for treatment. Since we offer morning, evening, and lunchtime hours throughout the week, we can do our best to schedule an appointment the very same day.
